A special Town Meeting was called by petition in February 2022 to consider measures to elect town officers and vote on the town budget by Australian ballot, replacing Town Meeting. The measures did not pass. The Select Board then appointed a committee to study Town Meeting and get voters’ input. The committee held several public meetings and conducted a townwide survey. Based on the survey results, the committee recommended continuing to elect town officers and vote on the town budget at Town Meeting, but move Town Meeting from Tuesday to Saturday. Voters approved this change at the next annual Town Meeting in March 2023.
